Taylor is from a small, rural county in North Carolina where she grew up watching her father practice law. Taylor knew from an early age that, like her father, she wanted to help people. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree in business management from North Carolina State University in 2009, she immediately went on to pursue her juris doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law. After taking her first family law class, Taylor knew exactly the type of law she felt a calling for. Upon completing law school in 2012, Taylor began practicing family law in Greensboro, North Carolina with the Woodruff Family Law Group. In 2018, Taylor became a Board Certified Family Law Specialist.
Taylor is an aggressive advocate for her clients in court, dedicated to providing empathetic, case-tailored representation. She focuses her practice on divorce and custody matters, including cases involving grandparent or third-party custody issues. Taylor understands that her clients are in one of the most vulnerable, emotional times of their lives. She prides herself on being able to provide strong representation during a time when her clients need it the most.
Taylor has been named by Best Lawyers as “Ones to Watch” since 2021.
Currently, Taylor focuses her practice on the following areas:
When asked how she balances client advocacy with conflict resolution, Taylor responds:
“I am aggressive when it comes to advocating for my client. However, I also feel like I can advise my client when to come to a reasonable settlement that is in the best interests of all parties involved. I look at my role as working hard for my clients and helping them get through one of the most difficult times in their lives. I am here to show empathy for their situation, but to also take the emotion out of the situation in order to resolve it in the most efficient way possible.”
Taylor understands that the issue of child custody can be an emotional and tough process. When asked how Taylor keeps the best interests of the child at the forefront of her representation, she responds:
“I take into consideration every aspect of the child’s life, including health, education, social interaction, religion and any other aspect that is important to my client, from a parent’s perspective. Additionally, I work together with my client on a custody schedule for both my client and the other parent, if that parent is fit to have time with the child. In some cases, we are able to work out an entire custody schedule without the involvement of the court. However, in other cases, we seek the assistance of the court to order a custodial schedule.”
At BCF Family Law, Jessica, Adam and Taylor have been working together as a team for over eleven years. When asked how this benefits BCF Family Law clients, Taylor responds:
“Each of us has something of value that we bring to the table every single day. We are here to help better our clients’ lives. We are able to find creative solutions to benefit our clients. I feel lucky every day that I get to practice law with two of my best friends who I respect and admire.”
When she is not working, Taylor enjoys spending time with her family.
“With three small children, our family’s hobbies include having fun wherever we can find it, and not sweating the small stuff!”
